Meadow Garden

Key to the design of this garden was the preservation and enhancement of an existing Garry oak meadow. During construction, extreme care was taken to protect this natural meadow. Native plants such as camas, fawn lily, nodding onion and native grasses were re-planted to help restore this unique ecosystem.

Inspiration for the new orchard meadow came directly from the site. Fruit trees under-planted with meadow grasses, wild flowers and spring bulbs create a peaceful, tranquil space. Mown paths meander through the native grasses to a small food garden. Stone extracted from site construction was used to build walls and pillars.
